Almukantarat Astronomy Club is a registered association, whose main statutory role is the popularization of astronomy and related sciences, especially among young people. We are organizing summer camps, as well as meetings throughout the year, on which we share our knowledge of astronomy with the participants and encourage night sky observations. Our meetings are not all about studying, but also about relaxing while visiting some of the most beautiful Polish resorts.
Almucantar (Ar.), spelled ‘almukantarat’ in Polish, is a small circle of the sphere parallel to the horizon; a circle or parallel of altitude. Two stars, which lie on the same almucantar, have the same altitude. (from Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, 1913)
